Early This Year Residents OF Edo BEnin City were Surprised to See NEPA AKA BEDC Staff Climbing up their Poles and Installing Prepaid Meters At The Top . They were Forced to Comply Even Though They already had Prepaid Meters
They were also Told That These New Prepaid Conlog Meters had Come with FREE 100 units ! They were also Told they had no options to Accept or Reject These New Meters ANOTHER LIE ! as actually we had these options since we ALREADY HAD WORKING METERS WITH RECHARGE ON THEM ! we had no choices as they came with Police Vans and Their Ladders and since most Electric Poles were Off Premises . You came back from Work to See These New Meters AND NO ELECTRICITY and you even had to call these same BEDC staff and Pay them Money to install in your House as they wont still work until they connected them to the new Meters and their in house handheld meter see photo !
Some charged up to 5,000 Naira just for the In house Unit Reader Batteries they brought with them claiming the normal 200naira Batteries will NOT work ! ANOTHER LIE !
Many Customers had Units ALready on their Old Meters And Some even Had Over 300units or more And were Told They Would Get These Units Back Later . BIG LIE ! IT NEVER HAPPENED !

Worse Still About 4 Months Down the Line Some Customers were SHOCKED when they went to renew Their BEDC Power Cards and were Told they MUST PAY 5500 Naira for the SO CALLED FREE 100 UNITS THEY GOT MONTHS BACK AS THE SYSTEM HAD BEEN CONFIGURED LIKE THAT !

How this Mishievious Ploy will reach the Edo State Governor . Godwin Obaseki Who is known to have walked Mrs Funke Osibodu OUT OF HIS OFFICE Who Many say has a SERIOUS BEEF with Edo Citizens and will do all she can to squeeze every last kobo out of them beats me !

Another Allegation is That MANY Homes of So called Big Wigs Hotels etc were exempted from these Meters
Reason There were NO meters that could carry Homes with more Than 3 BEdrooms ! ANOTHER LIE !
These Homes Are in league with BEDC and pay officials Money So They can Enjoy Their Air Conditioners on Illegal Bypass !
AS These New Meters use about 10 to 20 units on the Average 1HP AC per Day ! and these Big men have over 5 to Ten ACs in their Homes and pay the barest minimum for POWER while ordinary people keep getting scammed !
BEDC knows these People and well The SCAM Continues . Obaseki Should Investigate this !
